Can you put the Hard Drive from a unibody Macbook Pro into a late 2008 macbook?
a stupid cat spilled water on the macbook pro and we need files off of it so I was thinking that I could just stick the hard drive from it into my macbook and copy it all over to an external drive. Is this doable or you I need to make the drive into a usb drive first?
well my macbook is running 10.6.4 the mbp is running 10.5.something. I’m not sure of the exact build but we kept it up to date before snow leopard came out.
the macbook is 2.4 ghz and the mbp is 2.26ghz
You forgot to mention the version of OS and the exact processor speeds of these two computers.
Probably can boot it with that HDD installation, but the drivers are not suitable, so don’t expect it to work like a charm. You can never use an OS version that is earlier than the computer’s build date, so it needs to be OS 10.5.5 or later.
